DR IN THE HOUSE ON KEEPING IT REAL THIS CHRISTMAS

DR IN THE HOUSE ON KEEPING IT REAL THIS CHRISTMAS
/

Knowing last Wednesday’s ‘Dr in the House’ would replay for you on Christmas, I decided to keep it real. Goodbye commercialism that fills our worldly Holiday, as we cling to some essential Christ-filled thoughts.

THE PROBLEM: It’s human and downright too easy to get caught up in the world’s ideas of Christmas. It baffles me how some individuals shout disdain for followers of Christ in one breath… then fill their home with Christmas music and gifts under a beautifully decorated tree. That is how lost the TRUTH of our faith has become. WE know and understand our faith, and we cannot get caught up in judging either. We are part of why this season is so lost. It’s our job to help spread the good word and this is always a great goal for the new year. For today, on this Christmas morning, let’s do our part by simply staying true to our faith within our very homes.

Throughout 2017 you HAVE BEEN doing your part simply by engaging in blogs like this that may inspire you to take action in your faith. You’ve applied many of the things we have talked about over this year of FAITH INFUSED LIVING.  You go to church, Bible studies, read the Word and much more for wise counsel and fellowship which affects your life far greater than a person probably even knows. People are watching you and learning from you. YOU ARE BEING A DISCIPLE OF MEN by living true to the Word. I know this is the call for you and I love seeing how you do it, in your own unique way. Some of you are changing the world of your very own children, grandchildren or neighbors by living out your faith and making them part of it. Some of you are leading at work, being an example of  Christlike service. Others are prayer warriors, summoning the troops to alter a destructive path that a sister or brother in Christ may be on.

YOU ARE ALL DOING GREAT WORK FOR THE GLORY OF GOD and it is so good 🙂

THE WORD: If you follow my blog regularly you found these verses in an infographic from last week where I encouraged us to use the sight of our Christmas trees as an example of our faith.

(Stand Tall)  1 CORINTHIANS 16:13
LISTEN, STAY ALERT, STAND TALL IN THE FAITH, BE COURAGEOUS, AND BE STRONG

(Reach For The Light) JOHN 8:12
“I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. WHOEVER FOLLOWS ME WILL NEVER WALK IN DARKNESS, BUT WILL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE.”

(Go Out On A Limb) 2 SAMUEL 10:12
BE OF GOOD COURAGE, AND LET US BE COURAGEOUS FOR OUR PEOPLE, AND FOR THE CITIES OF OUR GOD, AND MAY THE LORD DO WHAT SEEMS GOOD TO HIM.”

(Shelter Others) JOHN 15:13
GREATER LOVE HAS NO ONE THAN THIS, THAT SOMEONE LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS.

THE GIFT: Blessings!!!  I know many of you are receiving blessings of acting out your faith like what is written in the above verses. Yet, today we celebrate the most awe-inspiring Christmas gift, forgiveness of sins and eternal life. This is the gift that brings us to our knees when we truly think about it.

I know I complimented you above, and I’ll bet some of you felt you are not worthy of that praise, or for Christ’s transforming gift of life. It is true, we are not worthy and at the same time, we are completely perfect for the gifts—- BECAUSE of Christ’s help! HE is why we can fall short in our attempt to serve Him well. HE is why we can wake in the morning with renewed hope. HE is why we can love and forgive when we truly believe it is impossible. HE IS OUR SAVIOR! With Him, we do not need to be perfect. Yet, He loves a heart who does his/her best to try.

THE CHOICE: Let’s keep it simple. Let’s STEP INTO all that Christ has done for us. Let’s live a Christ-filled life of love and service. Let’s understand the true meaning of being Perfectly Imperfect as we go and make disciples of men.

Blessing and joy this Christmas season friends,

Faith Infused Living… Reaches Goals Higher!
