DR IN THE HOUSE ON 'NOT A REJECTION, COULD BE A REDIRECTION'
/

THE PROBLEM: When we feel our lives have gotten off course, our plans aren’t working out. We are almost in these holding places and we are losing patience.

During these times… in come the iniquities, like guilt/shame/doubt making it easier to fall short yet again…. we may even want to give up. I don’t want this for any of us!

When we pray to God with all our heart and it seems He says no…

It might not be a rejection- it might be a redirection.

THE WORD: When this happens to me I try really hard to cling tight to the only thing I know is right. I cling to the Word, to God, and listen hard to the Holy Spirit. Letting doubt or feelings of failure will only take root and grow more sin. In these times we need to redirect our heart, mind, and soul back onto God.

We need to rebuke doubt and cling to God.

JOB 11:13-20

13 “Yet if you devote your heart to him
    and stretch out your hands to him,
14 if you put away the sin that is in your hand
    and allow no evil to dwell in your tent,
15 then, free of fault, you will lift up your face;
    you will stand firm and without fear.
16 You will surely forget your trouble,
    recalling it only as waters gone by.
17 Life will be brighter than noonday,
    and darkness will become like morning.
18 You will be secure, because there is hope;
    you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
19 You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid,
    and many will court your favor.
20 But the eyes of the wicked will fail,
    and escape will elude them;
    their hope will become a dying gasp.”

The word tells us two main things:

  • Our tent is us: keeping it free from iniquity.
  • Lift up our hands and stay close to God

THE GIFT: As we do this we will be able the to hear God, feel the Holy Spirits nudges, and gain insight from the Word. This will keep us ready to see and engage in our ‘redirect’. God will and always does answer our prayers. Sometimes it looks different than we expect and can come when we least expect…but it will come none the less. And, we want to be ready for it!

THE CHOICE: We always have free will. We can do as God asks and surely we will reap the rewards of that. He wants us to pray with all our heart and to believe with everything we’ve got. Blindly hoping and knowing that He will answer our prayers. When it seems like He isn’t we wait it out. We keep praying and wait expectantly.When we do this there will surely be a pay off for such obedience, reverence, and trust. He tells us if we do, we will…

  • stand firm (be confident while we wait)
  • fear not
  • forget our troubles
  • know that any setbacks or short-term and pass like water.
  • be secure
  • gain hope back
  • rest in safety
  • lie down in peace.
