DR IN THE HOUSE ON FEELING LIKE THINGS ARE UNSTABLE
Where your treasure is so is your heart
THE PROBLEM: Feeling unstable, like we don’t have control. We’re almost at the whim of everything thing else…. The weather, our boss, how good our kids are or will be today….
I believe this lack of control or feeling of control comes from where our focus is…
THE WORD:
19“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
THE GIFT: This verse tells us that we are at risk to where our heart. I don’t want to be at risk to this beautiful but unpredictable, sinful and glorious world.
I want my focus and your focus to be solely on the treasure of our Heavenly Father, the son, and holy spirit.
They are not unpredictable. They only love, they DO NOT SIN, the protect, keep us warm and fed.
THE CHOICE: In the example I shared in the beginning with our homes, I did to put things in perspective. It isn’t that we don’t control…..that is the problem.
It is who we let control us that causes all the grief and destruction…. or joy and blessings.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also….
